Jeramiah Irwin, @jerairwin
The Jersey City–based designer attended Afropunk for the first time last year, and the festival’s accepting ethos made him come back again this year. “I love festivals in general, but this one to me is so different. Everyone is so friendly. There’s no judgment,” he says. “It’s really true what they say—the no sexism, no homophobia here.” And given the opportunity to fully express himself, Jeremiah chose a denim corset and ripped jeans that were inspired by the pop-country music he’s been listening to. Says Irwin, “I was going to wear a cowboy hat, but I’m saving that for later.”

proportion play
The “Yacht-zee” concept combines quiet luxury and resort wear with a playful twist. “It's the drive to look effortless while looking sort of luxurious and classic all at once. The consumer driver is people responding to quiet luxury, but who maybe want to have a little bit more fun with it,” shares Zagor. “There's a lot of silliness in there, but it all stems from classic things. I think that really goes back to this idea of just uncertain times and classic clothing constantly feeling like a safety net, but this is doing it in a really non-traditional and fun way.” As a result, an effortlessly luxe-yet-eclectic style is born, achieved by playing with proportions and mix-and-matching patterns and textures.

Key Menswear Concepts for SS25
This season, the SS25 PROJECT Las Vegas Content Studio was all about subverting classic men’s wear through three different concepts each inspired by a specific persona or “atypical archetype.” PROJECT’s stylist Noah Zagor illustrates the concept further, “Menswear has never been shy about revisiting icons and paradigms. SS25 is no different with brands and designers bringing jazz-like interpretation and improvisation to familiar standards.
This season tennis culture, workwear, and nautical, breezy Mediterranean vacation styles (dubbed the ‘Yacht-zee’ aesthetic by Zagor) are all reimagined and updated.” Here, we invite you to discover each “atypical archetype” while gaining styling inspiration and merchandising tips along the way.

The patchwork pants by Yavash layered with an oversized trench by Rains is a perfect example of mixing-and-matching patterns. “If this concept had its own clothing rack in a store, it would tell a great color story and have lots of varying texture, but it would all sort of somehow come together,” shares Zagor.
And when it comes to achieving this concept’s effortless feel, it’s all about adding an unexpected accessory, like the big straw hat in this look. Zagor imagines wearing the “Yacht-zee” archetype and saying, “Yeah, let me just grab this hat. It's in my house.”
a tennis moment

It’s clear that Tennis is having a fashion moment right now: from the release of Challengers to Vogue and GQ covering “who wore what” to the US Open, it’s all over our Instagram feeds. “It just corresponds well with a new crop of young tennis stars coming up right now who can bring new style and character,” shares Zagor.
This “atypical archetype” is buying into the tennis aesthetic, not just the sport itself. As a result, styling this concept is all about mixing athletic wear with elevated pieces. For example, the first look features a Lacoste tennis bag, sweater, and shorts paired with a black dress loafer which removes functionality from the look yet references the tennis aesthetic. The second look positioned an Ellesse Tracksuit as the star player, and the pop of pink with the ‘80s B-boy tracksuit vibe added a touch of subversion by taking the look beyond simply athletic wear.
“There's an elegance and a sophistication to tennis that you should capture, but there also can be a playfulness and a reference. So, you're mixing old world and new world.” — Noah Zagor, Stylist
Mandy Perez, Director of Operations at Ellesse, approves. "We love how Noah styled our tracksuit set,” Perez said. “It combines a relaxed vibe with a touch of preppy flair, perfectly capturing the Italian luxury we're striving for.”
“When you're looking to put ranges together, make sure that you're looking for textures, colors, dyes, and materials that are natural. This isn't about synthetic, it's about natural materials that kind of break down a little bit with time and take on some great fading.”
— Noah Zagor, Stylist
This concept pulls from vintage inspiration with workwear and nautical motifs, styled in a modern way. As interest in vintage skyrockets, this “atypical archetype” is inspired by the modern-day vintage shopper who fuses vintage pieces with new clothing and accessories that have a similar look and feel. For example, the baggy denim XLarge shorts “look like they could be deadstock from 20 years ago,” according to Zagor, Vintage Heavy, the brand behind the football sweater in the same look, “really focuses on handcrafted detail and making things feel authentically vintage.”
well worn workwear
When it comes to achieving this look, Zagor says, “the trick is to mix things that feel like they're worn in and soft and have stories to tell, without them feeling forced or heavy-handed. It's not about wild, distressing, and ripped up shredded clothing, but it's about soft textures, faded colors, authentic worn in quality…and then combining it with some newer pieces, because that's how it would be put together in the real world.”

This concept is all about “Proportion Play.” As Zagor explains, “right now we're seeing a lot of fuller-cut and higher-waisted pants, and men are wearing shorter and shorter jackets and shirts, so I really like the way the Lee Rickie jacket works here.” Zagor’s tip: “pair the crop jacket with a fuller-cut, higher-waisted pant to offset the shorter, boxy body.”
