As Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Abdallah leads the development of Insight’s strategic business plan. Abdallah was appointed Chief Investment Officer (CIO) in September 2003 with overall responsibility for the investment management team, and in June 2006 was appointed Deputy Chief Executive. In July 2007, Abdallah became Insight’s CEO, while retaining his position as CIO. Abdallah has over 30 years’ industry experience. He has overseen the transformation of Insight from a traditional investment manager to a specialist solutions provider across LDI, fixed income and absolute return. During this time, the scope and complexity of Insight’s business and governance structures has evolved significantly. As a result, in 2016, Abdallah relinquished his CIO responsibilities, to focus on the role of CEO. Abdallah’s previous roles include CIO (fixed income) at Rothschild Asset Management and Head of Fixed Income for Schroder Investment Management Limited in London. Abdallah holds a Bachelor degree in Business Administration from New England College, an MS in Information Systems and an MBA in Finance and Investments from George Washington University.

Angus joined Insight in July 2017 as Global Head of Distribution. Prior to Insight, Angus was Global Head of Distribution at Barings Asset Management with responsibility for 11 regional offices across Asia, Europe, Middle East and North and South America. Angus began his career in asset management in 1993 at HSBC Asset Management, based in Hong Kong. He later joined Invesco in London as Director of Marketing and Product Development and, following the acquisition of Perpetual, was responsible for creating the combined brand and product strategy for Invesco Perpetual. In 2003, Angus became a founding partner of Gartmore Investment Management and occupied the role of Head of Global Institutional business, refocusing the business towards high alpha and alternatives and successfully building an institutional client base. Following a two-year stint as the CEO of a hedge fund and private equity business, he joined Barings. Angus holds a Masters degree from Aberdeen University.

Erik Brynjolfsson is the Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki Professor and Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered AI (HAI), and Director of the Stanford Digital Economy Lab. He also is the Ralph Landau Senior Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research (SIEPR), Professor by Courtesy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and Stanford Department of Economics, and a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). One of the most-cited authors on the economics of information, Brynjolfsson was among the first researchers to measure productivity contributions of IT and the complementary role of organizational capital and other intangibles. He has done pioneering research on digital commerce, the Long Tail, bundling and pricing models, intangible assets and the effects of IT on business strategy, productivity and performance. Brynjolfsson speaks globally and is the author of nine books including, with co-author Andrew McAfee, best-seller The Second Machine Age: Work, Progress and Prosperity in a Time of Brilliant Technologies, and Machine, Platform, Crowd: Harnessing Our Digital Future as well as over 100 academic articles and five patents. He holds Bachelors and Masters degrees from Harvard University in applied mathematics and decision sciences and a PhD from MIT in managerial economics.

Jon joined Insight as Chief Operating Officer in October 2019 with overall responsibility for Operations, IT, Business Change and Corporate Strategy. Before joining Insight, Jon was the Global Chief Operating Officer and sat on the management board of DWS, the publicly listed spin-out of Deutsche Banks’s asset management business. Jon has a wealth of experience within the financial services industry and has a strong background in both Technology and Operations. Jon began his career at JPMorgan where he spent 17 years in a variety of technology and business roles across the globe including nine years in Asia. He joined Deutsche Bank in London in 2007 as the Global Chief Operating Officer for the Rates and Commodities business and moved to Deutsche’s Asset and Wealth management business in 2012 to become their Global Chief Operating Officer. Jon holds a BSc in Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton.

Terry joined Insight in July 2012 as a Senior Quantitative Analyst in the Financial Solutions Group. Prior to joining Insight, Terry spent two years a Mercer as a Principal. He has also held financial analytical roles at Milliman and WestLB. Terry began his career in 2000 as a pensions consultant at Lane, Clark & Peacock. Terry graduated from Churchill College, Cambridge with an MA (Hons) in Mathematics. Terry also holds the Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in the UK.

Paul has 30-years’ experience in the investment industry. He joined BNY Mellon Investment Management affiliate, Mellon Investments, in 2005 and has been Head of the Efficient Beta investment team since 2015. In September 2021, Mellon Investments’ fixed income strategies including the Efficient Beta team formally joined Insight Investment. Based in San Francisco, Paul and his team of portfolio managers, academics and traders pioneered in fixed income through their innovative model-driven approach – focusing on accessing the alpha drivers in structurally inefficient segments of the bond market such as high yield. Before becoming head of the Efficient Beta team, Paul was a senior portfolio manager responsible for the yield curve arbitrage strategy within global asset allocation portfolios. Additionally, he engineered and built the process to automate fixed income portfolio rebalancing and improve operational risk control. Prior to joining Mellon Investments, Paul was a senior fixed income portfolio associate at PIMCO, where he analyzed portfolios, and implemented and managed active US and global fixed income portfolios. Previously, he was a trader at Westdeutsche Landesbank Tokyo, where he built the interest rate swaps trading desk, and a trader at Bankers Trust Tokyo, where he ran the Japanese government bond book. Both positions included market making and proprietary trading. Paul received a BA from University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. He is a CFA charterholder and is a member of CFA Institute.

Claire O’Neill had a 20-year career in consultancy and finance before entering UK politics in 2010. She served as Minister for Energy and Clean Growth in the UK Cabinet where she led the development of the UK’s Clean Growth and Green Finance Strategies and headed the UK CCUS taskforce. Claire also created the global Powering Past Coal Alliance (with Canada), negotiated the world’s first public-private Offshore Wind Sector Deal and brought forward the country’s Net Zero legislation in 2019. She led the UK’s winning bid to host COP26. She now co-chairs the Global Imperatives Advisory Board for the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and serves as a main Board Director for Occidental Petroleum, the Singapore Stock Exchange and Climate Impact X. She is also a Senior Global Advisor for McKinsey and Company and an advisor to the international investment firm, Hambro Perks. She invests in and advises several companies in a global low-carbon technology portfolio. Claire is a member of the UK Privy Council, a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society and the UK Energy Institute and is a Business Fellow at the Smith School of Enterprise and Environment at Oxford University.

Sir Steve Webb’s first role was as a micro-economist with the Institute for Fiscal Studies for nine years, followed by two years teaching social policy at Bath University. He was unexpectedly elected to Parliament in 1997, and served for 18 years, the last five of which he was Pensions Minister.
During his time at DWP Steve oversaw the successful implementation of automatic enrolment, helped design and legislate for the new state pension and played a key role in the ‘pension freedoms’ introduced in 2015. Since leaving politics he has worked for four years for the mutual insurer Royal London commenting on all matters relating to pensions and in 2020 joined LCP as a partner, advising and commenting on a wide range of DB and DC pensions issues and speaking at a variety of events.

Ren joined Insight in December 2010 and is Head of Client Strategy in the Client Solutions Group. Ren’s primary focus is on the development of outcome-focused investment solutions using both derivative and physical instruments to improve the certainty of attaining future funding outcomes for our clients. Prior to Insight, Ren spent five years at Towers Watson as an investment consultant, providing advice to pension funds on investment strategy, with a particular focus on liability hedging. Ren graduated with a double degree in Applied Finance and Actuarial Science from Macquarie University, Australia. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, Australia and a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the UK. Ren holds his Series 3 license and is an Associated Person with the National Futures Association.

Reena joined the Client Relationship Management Team as a Client Director in January 2023. She is responsible for servicing large, segregated clients investing in a range of asset classes. Prior to joining Insight, Reena spent seven years at Momentum Investment Solutions & Consulting as a lead advisor to large UK defined-benefit clients, advising on all aspects of investment strategy, asset allocation and mandate design. Prior to Momentum, Reena spent nine years at Mercer in a similar role, where she also held a number of management responsibilities. Prior to Mercer, she spent eight years at Willis Towers Watson, working as a consultant in the UK and the US, across a broad range of employee benefits. In all the roles she has held, Reena has been responsible for managing client relationships and junior associates. Reena graduated from Oxford University with a MEng in Engineering, Economics and Management. She is also a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Simon Daniel helps pension scheme trustees, sponsors and providers achieve successful outcomes in asset investment and insurance risk settlement. Simon focuses on supporting pension scheme trustees, LGPS funds and other institutional investors with the investment of their assets and helping trustees, sponsors and insurers successfully execute insurance risk settlement transactions. In the risk settlement area, Simon has advised on longevity-hedging structures and bulk annuity transactions of all sizes and types. This includes a £3bn residual risk transaction, a collateralised pensioner buy-in for £1.8bn, a non-collateralised pensioner buy-in for £900m, and an £800m longevity pass-through arrangement. It also includes numerous full buy-outs for sub-£100m schemes (including a PPF+ buy-out for just £2.5m). Simon is a lead Partner for Pathway, our joint proposition for streamlined bulk annuity transactions with Aon which has been used in transactions for aggregate premiums exceeding £1bn.
Simon's focus on asset investment includes supporting trustees and LGPS funds with investment reviews of all types (from advice on investment-linked life policies and authorised pooled funds to legal and tax due diligence reports on unauthorised alternative investment funds structured as non-UK limited partnerships) and involves reviewing discretionary investment management and fiduciary management agreements. A key feature of Simon's investment work is supporting schemes with their increasing investment governance obligations, including their policies, practices and disclosures in relation to ESG factors and stewardship.

Paul Kitson is an Actuary and UK Head of Pensions Consulting at EY, leading a multi-disciplinary pensions advisory team of actuaries, investment consultants, data scientists and governance experts. Paul has led several market leading de-risking transactions, including a £1.2bn synthetic buy-in for British Airways Pension schemes, later executing a longevity swap for another of British Airways Pension schemes, before novating this to a £3.5bn buy-in with L&G. Paul is a frequent speaking on pensions and retirement globally, having led plenary sessions at retirement conferences in US, Taiwan, Canada, South Africa, and throughout Europe and the UK. Last year, Paul was instrumental in the work by the City of London Corporation leading to the Mansion House DC Compact which is encouraging more investment by UK pension plans into unlisted equity and associated asset classes, delivering better outcomes for members and increased benefit for the UK economy. Paul is currently leading on a number of initiatives to support UK pension plans to safely run-on, leading to enhanced member benefits, maintaining benefit security and enabling surplus return to sponsors to support increased DC pension provision. Paul is a specialist in longevity risk and has acted as an Actuarial Expert Witness in several court cases and regulatory action.
