The European Central Bank (ECB) hiked rates, taking its deposit facility rate to 2.25%.
Euro area inflation rose to 2.4% over the quarter, rising to 2.6% intramonth, before easing towards the end of the quarter.
Year-on-year eurozone GDP growth was confirmed at 0.3% in Q1, down from 1.2% and below the initial estimate of 0.8%
The European Commission’s Consumer Economic Sentiment fell over the quarter to -17.7 in June from -16.3 in March, recovering from April’s low -20.5.
The HCOB Eurozone Composite PMI fell to 49.5 by quarter end, down from March’s 50.7, but recovering from the previous two readings.
