AI & Cybersecurity Trends
in Belgian organisations
Driven by the advance of Gen AI, businesses can no longer view digitisation as something nice to have. Both customers and employees expect them to bridge the gap between the physical and digital world.
To find out how organisations in Belgium are dealing with this trend and where they stand in terms of cybersecurity, Insight and iVox conducted a comprehensive survey.
The survey asked 150 Belgian respondents about their experiences with AI & cybersecurity. Their roles range from IT staff to middle management & senior management/executives.

Respondents that already make extensive use of AI applications consider improved employee experience (17.9%) more important than those who make no or limited use of AI (9.9%). For many employees, especially new generations, tools that offer a flexible experience are now important conditions when choosing an employer.
With 77% of organisations using AI tools, the risk of Shadow IT is increasing. When people use open AI applications such as ChatGPT, they could inadvertently share sensitive data with a public database. Therefore, businesses must integrate AI into their processes & give people access to more secure solutions, such as Microsoft Copilot or an in-house version of ChatGPT.

AI will completely replace humans in most sectors/tasks
51.3%
AI will replace humans, but only in specific sectors/tasks
While middle (6.1%) and senior management (0%) hardly think Artificial Intelligence will entirely replace humans, this fear is much greater among IT staff (18.2%). Ultimately, AI is changing the way we work and it will take over some tasks or aspects of our jobs, but humans still provide the data and make decisions about the impact of AI. The figure above shows that people are not yet fully aware of the technology’s potential and value.

In most organisations, the use of AI is still in its infancy. The focus on protecting sensitive data and concerns about the reliability of the output (“garbage in, garbage out”) are justified. Businesses need proper data management techniques to ensure privacy, security, reliability and compliance; Insight can help set up these practices.
