At the heart of TotallyAwesome is Youth. And at the heart of our deep understanding of Youth is our Youth-first Digital Insights. August is the month for our Youth-first Digital Insights. I am so energised and proud of the work we have done to bring this incredible piece of research to market. This year, we broaden our audience to include the much sought after 18–24-year-olds, giving us a richness of understanding and insight to bolster our Youth-first authority and credentials. We have delved into new topics like AI, Retail media and Cost of living impacts. We are seeing seismic shifts in youths' attitudes and behaviours since this study launched 8 years ago. Gaming is so much more than gaming – it’s their new social. Which is great news for TotallyAwesome who provides brands with gaming solutions that explore in, around and beyond the game marketing opportunities. Got to be happy about that. We have launched in a big way with a ground swell of media coverage across the region that surpassed our wildest expectations. And with more to come. Our webinars for Southeast Asia and Australia/ New Zealand showed what we know best – Youth. All this activity helps put TotallyAwesome front and centre as Youth specialists and the single source of truth for all things Youth. I am filled with joy, that already our sales teams are having brands and agencies reach out to them, wanting to know more…way to go team! This has been a mammoth task and one that will continue to move throughout September. Immense gratitude and thanks to the incredible work that has been done by the YDI team – Alice Almeida, Jian Hui Huang, Shamala DN, Pablo Gomez, Jacqueline Yong and Belinda Casselden. Now in its 8th year, this is an exciting piece of research focused on over 9,000 Youth aged 4 to 24 and over 5,000 parents across 14 markets in Asia-Pacific. This month, we launched our Youth-first Digital Insights on 16th August, and we are excited to share that we have generated quite a bit of noise in the market with this research that showcases our business and our Youth authority. Here are some highlights to celebrate: 1) Incredible press coverage… and more to come! Since our launch 1.5 weeks ago, we have received over 150 press mentions on trade publications across Asia-Pacific. As a result of this, we are also seeing revenue opportunities opening up for our Sales teams with new/ existing clients reaching out to get more information. Winning the Orion MSA with Spotify, KFC & Sentosa
LEVELING UP
Exciting news! Our incredible Sales teams successfully closed multiple deals under the Orion Master Services Agreement (MSA) with notable clients like Spotify Japan, KFC Malaysia and Sentosa. Congratulations to everyone involved in this! For KFC, we created a minigame to gamify the ‘fanning’ experience to support their Limited Time Offer campaign for their Satay burger. Check out the mock and great job to Justin & Jeff for their efforts on this. For Sentosa, the campaign will utilise Influencers, TotallyPlay and YouTube to drive awareness & traffic to their Roblox experience, SentosaLand. The team also had a positive call with the client to explore a long-term strategic relationship for their Roblox experience. Congratulations to Michelle and the team for closing this deal! For Spotify Japan, the success was attributed to 5 key factors: • Teamwork: close cross-department collaboration led by Makibi to set a meeting with UM Spotify following the Orion partnership announcement • In-depth Knowledge of Gaming: supported by Gary to feed relevant inventory and gaming information into the 2-day response to brief • Impactful Initial Meeting: showcased TotallyPlay’s unique offering and TotallyAwesome’s wider expertise and knowledge of gaming environments & activation strategy • Detailed Response to Brief: awesome teamwork with the team coming together for a quick media response while capitalizing the 3-day weekend in Japan for a quick turnaround response • Leveraged New Pitch Framework: utilised our new 90-9-1 pitch structure to ensure we are fully educating and inspiring the UM team on media offerings that can stimulate future brief requests. • LEGO: 132% of Q3 target achieved to date and currently at 77% of 2H23 target (and we still got 4 more months to go!). Congratulations to Dean and all the local LEGO Sales leads for this huge achievement! • Nike: Successfully closed the Nike Re-Imagine Girls campaign for Korea & Japan. This campaign targets girls aged 10 to 13 and will be activated against our Ad Effectiveness Study, Influencers, YouTube and TotallyPlay. Huge shout out to Michelle & all our local leads for pulling this through.
Big Wins for LEGO
Following the significant success in achieving the highest LEGO Life app downloads in Asia-Pacific and are 8th globally driven by TotallyAwesome, we have developed a Case Study to highlight the robust performance. This provides Sales with support to present and expand this success in other markets and accounts. End-of-campaign evaluations and recommendations report, coupled with our regular monthly meetings, have culminated in the successful proposal and launch of the first TotallyPlay campaign for LEGO Taiwan. This approach has been similarly applied with favourable results in Vietnam as well, with confirmation pending for the debut, and potentially increase in the budget for the first Totally Play campaign for LEGO Vietnam. Microsites: Progress is underway on the development of a LEGO City microsite tailored for the Vietnam and Thailand markets.

• Our 2023 Youth-first Digital Insights study is at its final data collection stage. The team will be busy churning out insights from the fresh data collected in the last few weeks. Stay tune and look out for the exciting insights in August! • Successful presentation of the LEGO Cool Factor study results to the LEGO Japan & Korea teams. • Shared with clients the results from our Frisian Flag Indonesia Brand Health Tracker – Wave 2 • The Research team are currently brainstorming ideas & topics for the 2023 LEGO Custom Research with the LEGO Regional teams. The study will leverage TotallyAwesome’s market leading data, paediatric psychology expertise and in-depth understanding of LEGO. The topic just got confirmed the research will be released late Q3/ early Q4.

The first TotallyPlay deal (outside of LEGO) closed in Japan with Spotify. A great first step in recognising non-LEGO Orion spend and gaming new revenue stream in the market!

The past few months have been very busy for the Psychology department with projects that have not only been fun (who doesn’t love playing with Duplo?) but have also generated revenue for the Psychology department. Amanda consulted with LEGO Duplo to help with how the company is communicating with parents. Through consultation with Duplo and providing supplemental documents, we devised a way for parents to easily see how each Duplo set in the Evergreen range helps with key areas of their child’s development. This information, including visual representation, developmental milestones and play tips will be communicated in store to assist with sales. With the incredible assistance of the Content team, Amanda filmed a series of videos for LEGO Duplo Japan to serve a dual purpose of upskilling the in-store Duplo Ambassadors and directly providing parents with ideas around how to play.
Goodbye Sasha – we will miss you!
Sadly, we are wishing Sasha a farewell as she pursues other opportunities that relate to her studies. Huge thanks to Sasha for all her contributions as we develop the Psychology department over the last few years. So the Psychology department is just Amanda at the moment!

Useful Insights to Guide our Research Survey Practices
The Psychology team recently presented best practice evidence to the Research team with developmental information on what youth can (and cannot) understand & respond to in surveys. This information will be used to inform future surveys to ensure that they are age-appropriate for youth so that we can get the highest validity of responses provided. This also means our data will be more valid and less susceptible to avoidable invalid responses.

The Account Management team is actively managing the entire product offerings, especially by directly managing the influencer campaign with local creator agencies, to support Florian beyond his business as usual.
Secured First Local Movie Deal from CJ Entertainment
The team secured their first local movie deal from CJ Entertainment. The agile team's support (Sales, Account Management, Ops) within the tight timeline enabled us to secure the deal. This serves as a good showcase of how we deliver our products and business while adhering to local standards, which are key factors in unlocking local business opportunities.

Successfully Concluded 2 Panels at Advertising Week APAC
We've had 2 great sessions from the TotallyAwesome team at Advertising Week APAC earlier this month! Alice Almeida dived into positive play in gaming with James Lund in the Amazon Ads Studio and Sarah Letts joined a panel of industry experts to talk about content/ influencer marketing – LinkedIn Post.
• Australia: (1) Secured a booking with VIC Government for their Workforce Pipeline campaign – increase in booking YoY (2) New product pitch to Disney for a Marvel Kids 2024 brief. We pitched an interactive video format hosted within a landing page, allowing kids to click and choose their own adventure. Positive feedback from client and presenting a storyboard on the content series by end of month. (3) Had a great presentation for New Zealand OnAir – a government funded content agency. Sales, Research, Marketing & Psychology teams all pitched in to help present to more than 60 producers and agency teams. It was an amazing session and we received fantastic feedback from the client. • Japan: (1) New business with Spotify Japan: First Orion and non-LEGO deal at US$28K for TotallyPlay. Close cross-dept collaboration and awesome teamwork were displayed with everyone coming together for a quick media response while capitalizing the three-day weekend in Japan for a quick turnaround response. (2) Positive conversations with Nintendo: Restart discussion with two agencies. Having an accurate understanding and planning with strategic team support. (3) Secured Bandai deal in summer campaign: We got US$34K on Candy campaign. After long-term negotiations with Bandai, we successfully secured this deal. • Malaysia: Successfully closed first Orion Malaysia deal with KFC – big shoutout to Justin & Jeff for pulling this through • Philiipines: Won a new brief from URC for a new product, Roller Coaster chips. Kudos to Jeff & Nicole for closing this • South Korea: Successfully closed a deal for our first-ever local Korean Movie – The Moon. Congratulations to Kevin, Soyeon & the Korea team • Indonesia: Ongoing live brief on Roblox with Unilever Life Buoy. • In August, we announced exciting news that we raised US$10 million seed funding from Partners for Growth and Yefira Group, who will join us on our mission to create a youth-first & youth-safe advertising ecosystem. • This will be used to invest in product development to evolve our enterprise advertising platform, ramp up hiring across key teams, and exploring strategic mergers & acquisitions to accelerate growth.

• At TotallyAwesome, we make it our goal to maximise a brand’s utility through the best media solutions that provide relevant & engaging executions. • This year, we launched TotallyPlay – the world’s largest youth-first exclusive gaming ecosystem, and Programmatic Playground – the world’s only programmatic solution offering youth-first and brand-safe programmatic advertising. Kudos to all the teams involved that made this happen! • Next year, we’ll be launching TotallyRetail real-time & dynamic ads, our commerce solution that stimulates a shopping experience to drive conversions among youth and families through a seamless purchase journey. • This year, we have proudly launched our first-ever proprietary research & insights platform, TotallyCompass! This custom dashboard collates all TotallyAwesome’s research into one platform, enabling quick access to historical data, trends, and insights. Great job to all the teams involved in building this! • TotallyCompass will be used to democratized data across different teams in the company and also serve as a place to educate the marketplace on the attitudes & behaviours of youths via 1st-party data, original research, and curated expert content.

• In September, we launched our first-ever management trainee program, NextGen Leaders Program. This is an extensive 24-months program for early-career talents to learn & receive hands-on experience from the entire business while making an impact to the digital advertising landscape. • We can’t wait to see all the next generation leaders that will emerge through our program!
