Beware of porch pirates! Bring packages inside to prevent your purchases from being stolen.
Check your Christmas light packaging for how many light strings you can safely string together. Plugging too many light strings together is a fire risk!

Unsure if you have a dry Christmas tree? Look for brittle or discolored needles, wrinkled bark or a musty odor. Dry Christmas trees present a fire hazard if they're in your home, garage or even outside. Maintain your tree and only keep it for a short period after the holidays.
THE DANGERS OF A DRY CHRISTMAS TREE

Love the smell of a real fire in the chimney? Make sure your flue is open, allowing smoke to exit! If the duct is closed, smoke will force its way into your home.
FLUE OF THE FIREPLACE LEFT CLOSED
Ready to hit the hay? Be sure to turn off your Christmas tree lights! Leaving Christmas tree lights on for prolonged periods can cause overheating and, in combination with a dry Christmas tree, can lead to a severe fire hazard. Make it a habit to turn off your Christmas lights every time you leave the house or go to bed at night.
