Engaging our people to champion sustainability

Our approach to sustainability includes broader firmwide efforts and individualized ones, such as equipping our people with the tools and insights to champion sustainability in their professional and personal lives.

Collaborating for greater impact and solutions

Achieving meaningful change requires trusted collaborations. This year, we announced strategic expansions with several alliance collaborators to combine our core capabilities and drive data-based insights for our clients, demonstrating our efforts to address pressing sustainability challenges and create lasting impact. Here is an overview of our progress through FY2023:

* In 2020, KPMG International committed to a science-based target aligned with a 1.5°C trajectory. That carbon-reduction target was validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2021, committing the global network, including the U.S. firm, to reduce emissions by 50% by 2030.

Followed suit with KPMG International, who engages with the CDP Supply Chain program and has invited more than 500 key global suppliers to disclose their carbon footprint data through CDP, to make this disclosure a priority, encouraging increased supplier participation and collaboration to reduce the carbon impact of our supply chain

We are committed to reducing our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 50% by 2030 compared with the base year 2019.* To meet this, we are focusing on supplier engagement, air travel and other green travel policies, and renewable energy investment.
