An Achievable Dream is a nationally recognized K-12 program dedicated to
the belief that all children can learn and succeed regardless of their socioeconomic background. AAD co-operates with schools in three districts in Virginia to provide
additional resources to level the playing
field for students.
AAD serves nearly 2,200 students in primarily underserved communities in three localities.
“It is a privilege and an honor to be an alum of An Achievable Dream. I feel as though I will always have a family, and AAD is a program that I look forward to my children attending. An Achievable Dream taught me the meaning of living in my true passion and helped me develop grit. The program also taught me the ability to see myself in spaces I could never imagine. As I reflect on my own story, I can confidently say the Dream works.”
— Kami’Lah Brown, Class of 2009
“I chose to sponsor An Achievable Dream classes because when I first met An Achievable Dream students I knew that these were students that would exceed all expectations when given the opportunity. Every student that I have met at An Achievable Dream has been amazing, focused and positive. I don’t feel like I gave them a push, I feel that they gave me a pull.”
— Mary Hughes, An Achievable Dream Classes
of 2002 and 2012 Class Sponsor
