Trader Joe’s Chèvre with Honey
Go to Mimis’s pick
The cinematography alone is reason enough to watch this movie. Nomadland is full of beautiful shots that evoke the Great American West—intertwined with industrial scenes and gravelly parking lots. The result is somehow both unsettling and calming. And the story is just as beautiful. We follow Fern and some real-life nomads on a liberating journey—so liberating, in fact, that you might feel envious but also imbued with sadness and grief.

I miss traveling so much. I spent a glorious week eating and drinking my way through Venice in 2013 with a friend. Stanley Tucci’s CNN series Searching for Italy, in which he visits all 20 regions of the country while sampling beautiful food and talking to locals, brings it all back—and makes me yearn for the next stamp in my passport. So far, I’ve learned about “wine windows,” the pigs of the Parma region, and the cheese. My goodness, the cheese.
I don’t know about you, but I’ve not yet retained what vaccinated people can and can't safely do. A few people I know are vaccinated, so I find myself reviewing the CDC’s guidelines for vaccinated people. A lot.

The novel The Code of the Woosters by P.G. Wodehouse, the seventh in the “Jeeves” series, is a droll romp through the early 20th century English countryside. Full of hilarious situational comedy, enviable names, and pithy turns of phrase, it's good for a laugh cover to cover.
