One Aircraft, Many Missions
The C-130J Super Hercules is one of the world’s most proven and powerful tactical transport aircraft, with more than 500 aircraft delivered to over 22 global customers and more than 2 million flight hours obtained.
The Bundeswehr plans to operate a total of 6 C-130Js, primarily focusing on national risk and crisis management and special forces support. Two C-130Js have already been handed over to the German Air Force, the third aircraft is expected in early 2023. Also in 2023, delivery of the 3 aircraft in the KC-130 tanker configuration is planned to begin, which will provide air and ground refuelling capability. The German C-130Js are stationed at the French airbase Évreux-Fauville in Normandy, where they are operated in a joint Franco-German airlift squadron. From 2024, the squadron plans to have a total of ten Super Hercs in operation.

The Centerpiece of 21st Century Security
The F-35 will replace Germany’s aging fleet of PA-200 Tornados by 2030. In facing rising conflicts overseas, the F-35 stands ready as the lowest cost solution for the German Air Force, and it is the only fighter with the capabilities necessary to
counter current and future threats.
This decision is another step forward in growing our partnership with Germany and expanding the European F-35 footprint. Today, there are approximately 120 F-35s in Europe across six countries. By the 2030s, we expect over 500 F-35s will integrate from more than 10 European countries, including two full U.S. F-35 squadrons at RAF Lakenheath.
The World’s Most Advanced Combat System
The Aegis Combat System is the most modern surface combat system with demonstrated and deployed capabilities to defend against advanced air and surface threats. It was designed as a complete system: the missile launching element, the computer programs, the radar and the displays which are fully integrated to work together.
Aegis provides ballistic missile and hypersonic missile defense as well, and is the only naval system integrated and interchangeable with new and developing missiles (such as hypersonic Glide Phase Interceptor) to continue to advance its capabilities to outpace ever-evolving threats while performing new missions.
For Germany, By Germany
The Sikorsky CH-53K is the future-proof heavy lift solution of the 21st century. Our German industrial partners play an essential role to deliver a helicopter that fully meets the mission requirements of the German Armed Forces.
The CH-53K is designed to ensure reliability, low-maintenance, high availability, and enhanced survivability in the most austere and remote forward operating bases. Its day and night air-to-air refuelling capability enables the CH-53K to perform an unprecedented range of mission profiles. Combined with its low life cycle costs, this adds up to the most efficient and capable heavy lift platform for decades to come.
