M270 is a highly reliable, combat-proven,
fielded system that has exceeded all performance requirements. There are more than 220 fielded systems in the US Army that have accumulated over 1.3 million operating hours.
With a proven range up to 300 kilometers and a variety of future munitions in development that will extend effective range to 499 kilometers, M270 delivers affordable, quick, long-range precision strikes. M270 employs the same munitions as HIMARS® which streamlines interoperability and logistics with U.S. and coalition forces while increasing missile loadout to two rocket pods.
M270 employs a shoot-and-scoot capability which enhances crew and platform survivability in high threat environments. M270 can emplace, fire, relocate and conduct reload in a matter of minutes, dramatically reducing an adversary’s ability to locate and target M270. M270 relies on a tracked chassis providing maximum mobility in any terrain.

M270 can be transported using C-17 or larger aircraft or by maritime assets ensuring capability is positioned when and where it’s needed.

MODERNIZATION
M270 upgrades include new 600 HP engines, new fire control system, improved armored cab, will enable the launcher to fire next-generation munitions like the Extended-Range GMLRS® and Precision Strike Missile (PrSM).
