After Gabby’s difficult battle with lymphoma, she was ready for the
next chapter of her life to take center stage. Her wish to perform in
a Broadway show celebrated the end of a long medical journey and
opened up “a whole new world” of adventure.
Her long-awaited Broadway debut began like any actor’s – swiftly
directed to rehearsal practice, then to hair and makeup to transform
into character. Gabby’s name sparkled on the marquee as guests arrived
at the theatre and trickled to their seats.
Sharing in her wish experience, Gabby’s family was overwhelmed with
joy to witness her up on stage, exuding confidence and hope for
the future. Her family and sister emphasized how perfectly fitting it
was that Gabby could star in Disney’s ALADDIN on Broadway because,
“so much of the show is based around wishes!”
Today, Gabby is in remission and attending college. Gabby and her family credit Disney for not only an enchanting wish, but for a lifetime of renewed strength, joy and memories together.
Gabby's Story
“[Rodrigo’s wish] was a week of yes, have more ice cream, stay up late, and go on the ride again. We definitely felt more bonded as a family because of all the good times we had on the trip, so thank you.”

Rodrigo
nervous system disorder
Rodrigo loves to swim at the beach, people watch at the mall, play games
on his iPad, and watch the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade. He is also
living with a nervous system disorder, that affects his life on a daily basis.
Rodrigo suffers from seizures, that usually happen in clusters a few
times a year.
Given Rodrigo’s love for the Disney parade, it came as no surprise
that he wished to go to Walt Disney World! Rodrigo and his family
left their home in Canada and went on a week-long trip, where they
stayed at Give Kids The World Village.
Nini, Rodrigo’s mom, reflected on her son’s wish, “It was a week of yes,
have more ice cream, stay up late, and go on the ride again.” Rodrigo’s
favourite part was watching the Disney parade at the Magic Kingdom.
Even though it was raining, that didn’t stop him from having a blast!
“We definitely felt more bonded as a family because of all the good times we had on the trip, so thank you,” said Nini as she expressed her gratitude. Rodrigo and his family will look back on his wish trip fondly for many years to come.
