When Angelito learned he would receive a wish, he chose to bring a beloved tradition from Mexico to his home – a charro party to celebrate his 5th birthday. Dressed in a traditional charro suit and hat, Angelito was greeted with live music, birthday gifts to enjoy and his favorite animal – horses! His mom shared, “He felt happy among the horses.”
Vera is a resilient 9-year-old who faces her daily treatments for her respiratory disorder with courage. Her heartfelt wish to have a baking station has given her the confidence to pursue her goal of owning a bakery someday. Vera shared, “Make-A-Wish makes me envision that when I’m older I’m going to own a bakery. I’ve always been dreaming of owning a bakery … and [my wish] makes me feel like that dream can be fulfilled.”
When Ruby was in the hospital awaiting her liver transplant, her mom read her bedtime stories to help her sleep. Inspired by her love of books and her own medical journey, Ruby wished to publish a children’s book – one that would give hope and bravery to others facing similar challenges.
Quinn’s wish to go to New York City turned into the adventure of a lifetime! He and his family explored the city’s landmarks, celebrated with an ice cream party in their hotel room, and rode in a limo around the city – complete with a giant New York-style pizza. Quinn shared, “My wish made me really happy and excited.”
Levi’s love for snow inspired his heartfelt wish to go skiing in Colorado. After months away from his siblings during his cancer treatment, his wish gave him and his family the chance to reconnect and make joyful memories together. Levi shared, “My favorite part of my wish was having my siblings together.”
Braedyn’s wish to go ice skating gave her the chance to reclaim the childhood joy she lost during her treatment for leukemia and create new memories with her family and friends. It was her very first time on the ice, and she conquered the rink with a smile.
