As a young girl, Shelby thrived on social activity and being around people. Her diagnosis made that happiness impossible. But seeing a community come together to make her wish to star in a commercial a reality brought her confidence back, making her feel accepted again. Today, her wish taught her what it means to command respect and attention, evolving into a career in fashion. She felt like just a sick kid before Make-A-Wish. And now she is making hope possible for others.
