Members of our national team gathered in Minneapolis to volunteer their time at Open Arms, an organization that prepares and delivers meals to the critically ill and their families – 100% free of charge to clients. Here's what our team accomplished:

Since 2009 the Barney & Barney Foundation, named after legacy MMA agency Barney & Barney, has awarded more than $4.7 million to over 250 non-profit organizations. Proceeds from the 2023 annual golf tournament awarded $140,000 in grants to local deserving non-profits.

Colleagues in our San Francisco office organized a toy drive during the holiday season that raised over $3,500. They purchased toys, pajamas, winter coats, and gift cards for children in their community, which were donated to four different charitable organizations.

The MMA Random Acts of Kindness campaign sets aside $25,000 per year for colleagues to give out to their communities in a variety of small ways including: buying someone's coffee, gas, or groceries, delivering treats to a fire station, or buying hats and gloves for school children in need. Our colleagues completed hundreds of unsuspecting acts, creating smiles and goodwill during the holiday season.

Benefitting a children's cancer charity in their community, members of our Minneapolis office hosted an annual Rally for Kids which included a carnival, lunch, raffle, silent auction, and more. Leadership served burgers and hotdogs and the 2023 event raised $34,470.

22 colleagues and their families donated their time to assist Fisher House Milwaukee, an organization that provides free, temporary lodging to eligible loved ones and caregivers of military services members and veterans receiving VA-approved extended medical and emergency care. Our team cleaned the interior windows, dusted blinds and window ledges, vacuumed hallways, and even prepared a meal for the guests staying in the house.

Members of our Schaumburg, IL office took part in a toy drive benefitting Edward's Children's Hospital. They collected over 350 toys, which 60 colleagues generously donated their time to wrap!

Colleagues in our Fargo office brought in toys, arts and craft supplies, books, games, and snacks to support the Red River Children's Advocacy Center, which provides supplies for children and their families who have been victims of trauma of any sort. They also volunteered their time making 16 cozy fleece tie blankets to give to children in need.

Each year, the Sioux Falls office runs an employee donation campaign to reach 1% of the annual United Way fundraising goal. Between colleague and corporate donations, we donated $143,000 to the United Way in 2023!

In this annual event, colleagues in our Overland Park office are split into teams where they each choose a charity organization they’d like to support and then participate in a friendly bowling competition for their pick. Colleagues in our San Antonio office participated in their annual "Snack Bag" event where they collected items and assembled bags of food. The bags are given to students to take home over the weekend who otherwise rely on school lunch for their only nutrition. With 16 items per bag, they were able to pack 420 bags.

Colleagues in South Florida participated in the Walk Out of Darkness annual community walk in remembrance of a colleague who took his own life and to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

As part of Global Volunteer Month, members of our Atlanta office gathered to assemble art therapy kits for kids in their community as part of Chris 180, a mental health organization who provides therapy, counseling and psychiatric support.

Colleagues in the greater Baltimore region fundraise annually to shop for school supplies as part of the “Tools for Schools” program. In 2023, they were able to raise enough money to purchase 50+ backpacks full of supplies for students in need.

Members of our Boston office gathered to prepare care packages for Circle of Hope, an organization that collects clothes and essential items for homeless shelters, healthcare clinics, universities, and other programs throughout Greater Boston. Our team happily prepared Emergency Clothing Kits for families in crisis and Welcome Baby Bags filled with newborn essentials for new moms at shelters.

Colleagues in Canada participated in a charitable event as “volunteer Santas,” where they received letters from children, shopped, wrapped, and presented the gifts to those who otherwise would not receive any. The 2023 event raised $1,075 to purchase gifts.
