Capabilities
This advanced system allows for the treatment beam to directly target a tumor from multiple angles while minimizing exposure of surrounding healthy tissues.
TrueBeam can be used to treat many different types of cancers, targeting tumors in the following areas:
Abdomen
Liver
Pelvis
Lung
Breast
Head and neck
Brain and spine
Gynecologic tumors
Prostate and genitourinary (GU) cancers
Explore TrueBeam
With TrueBeam’s breakthrough technology, our radiation oncology team can treat more challenging types of cancer and develop individualized treatment plans for patients.

TrueBeam Technology at Work
TrueBeam rotates around the patient to deliver a prescribed radiation dose from nearly any angle.

Customize the beam
Focus on accuracy
Visualize the tumor
Generate 3-D images in less time than is required with other imaging technologies, with the potential for a 25% reduction in X-ray dose to the patient.
Visualize the tumor
Customize the beam
A multileaf collimator (MLC) shapes the beam to match the
3-D shape of the tumor. These can move and change during treatment to target the tumor and minimize dose to the surrounding healthy tissue.

Focus on accuracy
Real-time imaging tools allow clinicians to treat tumors with accuracy measured in submillimeters.

Image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT)
Combine 3-D images, such as CT scans, with the precise technology of either 3-D or intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) to pinpoint and treat cancerous tumors.
Intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT)
Precisely target tumor cells with an advanced form of external radiation treatment.
The CT simulator localization scan or other
3-D images provide the radiation oncologist with an understanding of the shape and location of the tumor.
Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)
Deliver high doses of radiation with stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT), an advanced type of radiation therapy that uses several beams of varying intensity aimed at a very targeted area of the body.
Due to the high intensity of the radiation dose, only one to five treatments are given over a period of one to five days.
Benefits
Offers patients advanced accuracy, speed, and comfort while allowing medical professionals the ability to treat many different types of complex cancer cases.
Shorter treatment times
Targeted precision
Customized treatment
Comfort and care
Shorter treatment times
Most treatments take less than two minutes. These faster treatment times also allow for reduced chance of tumor or patient motion during treatment.
Targeted precision
The TrueBeam system can generate the
3-D images used to precisely target tumors.
These images can be used to fine-tune a patient’s position prior to and during the treatment process.
TrueBeam offers treatment options for complex cancers, allowing doctors the flexibility to customize treatment for each patient.
Customized treatment
A respiratory monitoring system controls beam delivery during respiration, so patients can breathe naturally and comfortably during treatment.
Through a two-way communication system, a clinician can stay in constant contact. TrueBeam also has a music feature, which enables music to be played during treatment.
