Ongoing oversight across every fund
Mutual of America maintains a rigorous and ongoing oversight process of the funds on our platform. This ongoing due diligence helps us maintain high investment standards, which means you can build your investment lineup with confidence. Throughout the year, we gather relevant information regarding the funds, their performance, any changes in their key personnel or investment process, and more.
Representatives from each of the investment firms featured on our platform meet with us periodically (usually about every six months) to discuss their funds, including their performance and any changes affecting their operations, strategy or personnel.
In addition to individual meetings, we also receive information related to the funds frequently throughout the year. These thorough review processes add additional layers of monitoring to help ensure that investment funds and their managers are continuing to meet the criteria for inclusion on our platform.

Mutual of America’s core investment menu is comprised of six asset classes. Provided that all six of these core asset classes are represented, Mutual of America will indemnify a plan sponsor’s fund menu, subject to certain terms and conditions, against liability, losses or reasonable expenses that arise from specific ERISA-related fiduciary claims related to the fund lineup. It’s just one more way we’re committed to helping you perform your fiduciary duties.
