Employee well-being & activism
Our corporate culture transcends traditional employee well-being programs by recognizing the importance of healthy minds and bodies. Innovation from all employee levels is encouraged and recognized, as is community service, support of educational advancement and appreciation of the arts. We also recognize that we must work together to build a more equitable society and to improve diversity, equity and inclusion in our workplace. Our goal is happier, healthier employees that are engaged and committed to their passion.
Scientific advancement & education
The cultivation of scientific knowledge is critical to help drive scientific breakthroughs. We are dedicated to supporting young scientists and science educators by providing reagents, educational materials and technical expertise. In 2014, we introduced our Passion in Science Awards to recognize members of the scientific community who are committed to making a difference through their science, service, stewardship or artistic endeavors. We also we feel that educational growth and development is critical in creating a challenging work environment where our own employees are excited to come to work each day.
Humanitarian efforts & philanthropy
We see opportunities where science can be used to improve lives, and believe that the pursuit of science is one path to a greener and more compassionate world. This philosophy lies behind our longstanding commitment to our parasitology research program. Our philanthropic focus is on educational, environmental, civic and cultural arts initiatives that strengthen our community and improve life for its citizens and future generations. NEB has played a role in the establishment of several foundations devoted to humanitarian efforts and environmental awareness.
Environmental stewardship
We continuously strive to promote ecologically-sound practices and environmental sustainability in order to protect our natural resources, both locally and globally. For over 40 years, we have been promoting and supporting like-minded organizations worldwide to help achieve this goal. Further, it is our goal to continuously improve our business processes to minimize our impact on the environment.

Recycling and composting are two ways NEB works to reduce its carbon footprint. None of the waste generated by NEB goes into landfills. Through composting, NEB diverts over 8,000 lbs of waste per month from landfills. NEB’s extensive recycling program includes glass, paper, plastic, aluminum, cardboard, EPS and wood pallets. Biological waste is processed by a carefully selected medical waste vendor. Learn more.
