WE ALL know parents with large families need to be endlessly patient, totally supportive multitaskers – but having a spacious motor for all that taxiing about comes in very handy too.
School runs, play dates, kids’ activities, big food shops, trips out and holidays: for mums and dads, a reliable car that does it all is vital.

Cue the latest Nissan X-Trail, made for the job of keeping your family on the move – whether it’s everyday journeys or enjoying brilliant adventures together.
Launched in 2001, the X-Trail has proved so successful it’s now in its fourth generation.
It’s also grabbed a host of accolades, including Family Car of the Year at the News UK Motor Awards 2023.
But for busy families the main prize is space. The X-Trail has plenty of it, with the largest version an airy seven-seater (at additional cost).
This is a practical, versatile electrified crossover SUV with distinctive looks – a car for all occasions, whatever you and the kids are doing.
There’s much more to the X-Trail than space, though, not least the e-POWER powertrain.† It comprises a 1.5-litre petrol engine that charges a lithium ion battery – and they both work together to power an electric motor that turns the wheels.
This tech delivers a responsive drive with instant torque that allows you to enjoy the feel of electrified driving – whether you’re off for a day by the coast, in the country or further afield for longer getaways.
The e-POWER is impressive, but even more so when paired with e-4ORCE,** another Nissan technology.
This one-of-a-kind all-wheel drive system manages power output and braking to each wheel individually.
That’ll please car tech buffs – but it simply means that, with the wheels adapting to changing surfaces, you and the kids could enjoy a smoother, more stable and more comfortable ride.
Keeping your brood from harm is understandably key when you’re driving them about, and the X-Trail has multiple features that can improve your safety.

* Seven seats available on selected powertrains at an extra charge
** e-4ORCE all-wheel drive available on selected X-Trail e-POWER models
† e-POWER is a unique technology. It is not a 100% electric vehicle and requires petrol to fuel the electric motor. Search “Nissan e-POWER” for more details
†† It is the driver’s responsibility to stay alert, drive safely and be in control of the vehicle at all times. Driver assist features have speed and other limitations and should not be solely relied on. For more information, please refer to the owner’s manual or visit nissan.co.uk/techterms

Since this is above all a family car, Nissan has been careful to provide heaps of space that’s both flexible and supremely accessible to suit your family’s needs.
The X-Trail’s cavernous interior can seat from five to seven* comfortably, and boasts boot space of up to 585 litres, which expands to 1,396 litres as standard on five-seater versions when the seats are folded.
Rear access is easy because the doors swing open to nearly 85 degrees – handy if you’re putting a child seat in.
And there’s tons of storage with large door bins, generous cup holders and a copious centre console. Interior materials are durable, so very useful when there are little ones in the car.
And no need to worry about “are we there yet?” gripes. The X-Trail keeps passengers entertained on the road with a high-definition touchscreen for playlists, podcasts and audiobooks.^ And there’s a 12.3-inch version on premium models.
You can connect phones and gaming devices, easily use your favourite apps, and charge on the go through the USB ports.
All things considered, the X-Trail is an ideal family car that’s great to drive and a pleasure to be driven in.
But the greatest pleasure for you and the children is discovering how much you can do with it.
