Hunt 'n' scan to win a year’s worth of Deluxe Irish chocolate this Easter
With the school holidays just around the corner, Lidl is on a mission to make this Easter egg-stra special (we couldn't resist!). In celebration of this choc-tastic holiday, your favourite supermarket is offering you the chance to win a year's worth of heavenly Irish chocolate from its delicious Deluxe range.
Master chocolatier Ann Rudden, of Áine’s Handmade Chocolate, has been crafting melt-in-the-mouth treats for 25 years. We’re not talking any old run-of-the-mill chocolate here: this is top quality, Irish-made chocolate that makes the tastebuds tingle. Whether you're a fan of smooth, creamy white chocolate, rich classic milk chocolate or decadent dark chocolate, Áine’s Handmade Chocolate for the Lidl Deluxe range has something for everyone.
Just imagine it — an entire year's stash of chocolatey goodness could be yours, simply by taking one of your regular trips to Lidl, or using the Lidl Plus app.
Supplying Lidl stores with their Deluxe Irish handmade premium Easter eggs since 2017, Áine’s Handmade Chocolate creations are a true labour of love, crafted with the freshest natural ingredients. Every bite is heaven, and with a range of flavours that includes mint, white chocolate, honeycomb and classic milk chocolate, you'll be spoiled for choice.
Hate to share? Here’s the bad news: every ounce of Áine’s Handmade Chocolate is gluten-free, so even your coeliac and gluten-intolerant friends and family won’t be able to resist popping around for a cuppa and a bite.

HOW TO ENTER
The kids won’t be the only ones hunting for treats this Easter. You’ll have to be on high alert, too, and keep your eyes peeled for the QR codes scattered across advertising at three select locations: Leeson Street Upper in Dublin 2, St Patrick's Street in Cork and O'Connell Street in Limerick.
Once you spot one of these elusive QR codes, whip out your phone, give the code a scan, and voila! You'll be whisked away to the delightful realm of the Lidl Plus app faster than you can say "Go Full Lidl this Easter".
Don't have the Lidl Plus app yet? Don’t worry, your chocolate-coated dreams aren’t dashed. Simply scan the QR code to start your exhilarating journey towards app installation (and what could be more exhilarating than a free year's supply of chocolate?). Remember, you can only enter the competition by scanning a QR code, so after you’ve downloaded the app, rescan the QR code to ensure you're still in with a chance.
SMOOTH OPERATOR
It's not just about the chocolate — it's about supporting a local Irish business, too. Rudden started her chocolate odyssey in a Dublin manufacturing facility back in 1999, and by 2007 she was in a position to bring her popular chocolate — as well as local employment opportunities — back to her home village of Stradone in Co Cavan.
In those early years, Rudden’s expertise centred around bakery management and food science. The entrepreneur honed her skills over several years with both Irish and international chocolate companies before starting Áine's Handmade Chocolates. Fast forward to today and Rudden is renowned for her chocolate ingenuity and creative flair.
ECO EGGS
Áine’s Handmade Chocolate is committed to sustainability and ethical practices, striving to source the best, most sustainable ingredients and 100% recyclable packaging. With an aim of reducing waste in the market, the company uses cardboard, recyclable aluminium foil and recyclable plastic wrap.
What’s more, every egg is made using Rainforest Alliance Certified cocoa, which supports farmers who produce their ingredients using methods that adhere to the social, economic and environmental pillars of sustainability.
Not only will you be diving into a year's supply of chocolate bliss, but
you'll also be making a positive impact on the environment every time
you dip into your chocolate stash.
ON TO A WINNERLest we forget the accolades: Áine’s Handmade Chocolate's mint chocolate egg is the recipient of a prestigious Great Taste Award. In fact, the team at Áine’s Handmade Chocolate is no stranger to stellar recognition for their hard work. Since 2001 (when they were just two years in business) Rudden and her team have collected 30 Great Taste Awards, including 13 gold medals, each one testament to this chocolate’s superb quality.
Even if you’re not one of the lucky competition winners, you’ll still feel like you’ve hit the jackpot this Easter when you add Áine’s Handmade Chocolate to your shopping trolley.
