Imagine you live in a country where you didn’t know where a Christian church was located or even how you could connect with a Christian. This remains the reality for many young people in limited access nations. Digital ministry allows them to interact with Scripture and an online missionary! Digital ministry also allows families to interact with Scripture together, like on the Bible App for Kids, an experience created with our friends at YouVersion.
Digital Ministry
OneHope’s first film was The GodMan film, which shares the story of Jesus. Now we use many films that share the Gospel message. Films also allow for multiplied impact for ministry as a tool in church planting. This year, we’re planning to share Gospel-centered films with more than 21 million young people!

Digital programs unlock access to ministry around the world and in limited access nations. What If It’s True? utilizes web and mobile-based platforms to engage youth and young adults with a redemptive narrative, exposing them to God’s Word, in many cases, for the first time. With ad-driven content, What If It’s True? speaks to the truth of the Gospel as it applies to specific issues users have in their everyday lives. Throughout the engagement process, young people go deeper and ultimately connect with a local discipleship cohort or social media community manager equipped to answer questions and guide users on their journeys toward faith. In 2023, six additional languages will be translated and tested, bringing the total number of languages that What If It’s True? is operating to 17!

At OneHope, we tailor Scripture engagement programs to meet the specific needs of the age, language, culture, and context of the children we’re trying to reach. Children in rural Asia need a different presentation of the Gospel than teenagers in Africa. We’ve made creative programs for many different segments of the youth population!
Malaria, water-borne illnesses, and other maladies concern health officials in Burundi, East Africa. Children who should be growing and learning carefree, find themselves bedridden. Practicing good hygiene such as proper handwashing can help curb many common illnesses, but children sometimes miss the opportunity to learn these beneficial practices. Hygiene lessons are a pressing need, but these children also need the hope-filled message of the Gospel. Our World Without Sickness program shares God’s Word and practical hygiene lessons! But children in the poorest country of the world, Burundi, don’t currently have access to World Without Sickness.
Help Children Learn About Jesus and Hygiene
Time is of the essence! The next rainy season in Burundi, which brings more malaria-carrying mosquitos, typically starts in September. We need to translate World Without Sickness as soon as possible to begin outreaches. With your help, we can help meet the urgent need to equip children to have hope and live healthy lives. We need partners like you to say yes to translating this First Edition program into the Kirundi language to serve Burundi children. Our local church partners in Africa have requested this program to help them reach the young people in their communities. You can make a significant impact and provide a brighter future for Burundi children.

Film Spotlight
Films can be used in a variety of ways for ministry! Our film faith goal for 2023 is more than 21 million young people—join us in praying for the children and youth who will watch a film about Jesus this year through OneHope, and if you’re ready, make a generous gift toward these outreaches today!
Now available in several versions with culturally relevant presentations for different regions and nations, The GodMan film is a computer-generated animation story of the life of Christ, a beautiful presentation of the Gospel that can reach children who read and those who may never learn. It can be used in conjunction with the Book of Hope but also stands by itself. Church planters in Africa show The GodMan in communities, and then plant a church after sharing this initial outreach!
Films can be contextualized for different cultures. In Latin America, we are using the film En Tus Manos [In Your Hands]. It follows the story of a young man that’s being initiated into a violent gang and the journey he walks to turn away from that path and choose Jesus.
We’ve partnered with Bible Media Group to create OneHope Youth Films. These films show a historically accurate representation of Jesus and use word-for-word Scripture to present the words of Jesus. They have been an incredible resource that has allowed for translation into many minority languages.
Meet Cyriaque Growing up in a Muslim home in Senegal, Cyriaque never heard of Jesus Christ. When he turned 12, his friends and family noticed a rebellious streak. He fought with his friends, disobeyed, and lied indiscriminately. One day, local OneHope partners showed The GodMan film. Cyriaque discovered the power of Jesus’ life and ministry. As he watched Jesus perform miracles, listened to His teachings, and watched Him die and rise again, he realized that what Jesus did for others, He could do for him. Cyriaque accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord. Others noticed a remarkable difference in how he began treating people with kindness and respect. He even invited his family and friends to see The GodMan so they, too, could know the truth about Jesus.
