THE DIFFERENCE
DETAILS: IKOS TR
No sleep system is complete without the right shelter. Set yourself up with one of the market’s most versatile tents, whether you’re arriving to camp by car or foot.
HIGH TENSION
You don’t have to live cramped in condensation. The centerpiece of the Ikos is its unique Tension Ridge.
Inverted brow pole serves 2 key functions: More internal head and shoulders room; plus, double the high points above larger doors for more ventilation through an oversize Apex Vent.
Comes in 2- and 3-person versions (5 lbs, 3.6 oz packed; 6 lbs, 15.7 oz), measured to fit rectangular mats.
MEANER, GREENER
Sustainably built to outlast comparable tents.
The beefy ripstop fly is an environmentally sensitive shell with no PFCs in its water-repellent finish—and the fabric is made without chemical flame retardants.
DAC MX Poles use a green anodizing technique to add strength, using far more benign chemicals and way less water than traditionally constructed pole sets.
UNIQUELY VERSATILE SETUPS
With the inner tent clipped to the pole set from below (fly velcroed to the poles from above), plus rugged pole feet connected to ingenious C-clips, the Ikos opens up multiple configurations.
Stargazer Configuration: Roll up the fly from both sides along the Tension Ridge to enjoy 360-degree views.
Hangout Configuration: Adjust the pole feet in the C-clips to keep the fly pitched in a shell shape (no straps needed), and unclip the tent underneath.
The Ikos fly becomes an exoskeleton-like, freestanding part of the tent structure.
Tip up with added poles or trekking poles (sold separately) for day-time protection from the elements.
The interior swallows gear with a loft, four corner and two upper pockets. Fits two rectangular mats, with masses of exterior vestibule space.
Rugged floor fabric (boasts a hydrostatic head of 4 meters).
