Every generation of technology arrives with a promise. The promise of AI is the most consequential in decades, and this time, the potential is real. AI can reshape how organisations build software, serve customers, manage risk, accelerate discovery and make decisions. The investments are justified. The urgency is warranted.
What is also real is this: many organisations are struggling to translate that promise into measurable impact. It is not because they lack access to models, platforms or ambition. The distance between AI strategy and operational reality, between boardroom commitment and production deployment is wider, more structurally complex and harder to close than many anticipated. Pilots that proved the concept have stalled before production. Data that seemed ready has turned out to be fragmented, inconsistent or ungoverned. Agents that performed well in demonstrations have struggled in the messy, regulated and interconnected reality of large organisations. The gap is real and it is costing organisations time, capital and competitive ground.
More fundamentally, AI is reshaping how organisations create value, compete and grow. The next competitive advantage will come from the ability to integrate intelligence into the operating core of the organisation. The organisations that succeed will not simply adopt AI. They will redesign how work gets done around it.
This is the moment Persistent was built for.
We chose this year's theme, Re(AI)magining ™ the Enterprise: Where AI Ambition Meets Engineering Execution, not to describe an aspiration, but to define where we create value. Persistent sits at the point where AI strategy becomes operational reality and where lasting advantage is created. That standing is earned, not claimed.
Persistent's heritage in software and product engineering places us at the intersection of AI, data and modernisation. For more than three decades, we have helped clients engineer complex technology systems that are resilient, scalable and business-critical. Those strengths are becoming increasingly relevant as organisations move from experimentation towards widespread adoption.
They are reflected in our AI platforms, SASVA™, iAURA and GenAI Hub, and in the 3C Framework of Core, Context and Coordination. Together, they help organisations establish a strong technology foundation, apply intelligence with business context and embed AI into the workflows where decisions and outcomes are created. Importantly, these are not frameworks designed for presentation slides. They are disciplines built through real-world deployment, refined within Persistent as Customer Zero and applied across increasingly complex client environments. That experience continues to shape how we help clients move from fragmented AI investments to trusted outcomes.
The organisations we serve are at an inflection point. AI ambition is funded. The question now is execution.
The next phase belongs to organisations capable of turning pilots into platforms, data into insight and governance into a foundation for growth. The winners will be those that can embed intelligence into the systems, workflows and decisions that drive business performance. This is where Persistent stands apart. We bring the engineering depth, data foundation, platform IP, governance discipline and delivery model required to help clients move from investment to measurable, trusted outcomes.
FY26 showed what becomes possible when AI ambition meets engineering execution. This report is the story of that progress and the foundation for what comes next.

It is a privilege to share Persistent Systems’ 36th Annual Report. Each year provides an opportunity to pause in gratitude, reflect on how far we have come, and consider the changing world around us. Above all, it is an opportunity to acknowledge the trust that has made this journey possible.
When we started Persistent in 1990, we had very limited resources. What we did have was curiosity, determination and a willingness to learn. We believed that if we remained useful to our customers and continued to create value for them, the business would grow. More than three decades later, those fundamentals remain unchanged.
FY26 marked a defining year in the evolution of enterprise AI. Across industries, the conversation shifted decisively from experimentation to execution. Organisations are no longer asking what AI can do; they are asking how quickly and effectively it can be embedded into products, processes, decisions and customer experiences.
Throughout my career, I have witnessed several technology transitions reshape our industry, from distributed computing and the internet to cloud and digital transformation. What makes AI different is its ability to influence not only technology architectures, but also how organisations operate, make decisions and create value. The next competitive advantage will come from how effectively intelligence is integrated into the operating core of the enterprise...

Trust of this kind is never built in boardrooms alone. It is earned every day through the actions of our people. It is built project by project, commitment by commitment, often quietly and away…
