As a member-driven program, Operation Clean Sweep® supports the full plastics value chain in advancing resin loss prevention through membership. OCS members demonstrate significant leadership in industry-led voluntary stewardship to protect the environment, preserve water quality and wildlife, and strengthen worker safety. Any company that physically handles preproduction plastic resin in the US is eligible to join as a member. For companies with operations outside of the US, please explore international OCS programs active in more than 60 countries worldwide. If your company is interested in supporting the goal of zero resin loss, but does not physically handle preproduction plastic resin, your company would be eligible for the OCS Supporter program.

Operation Clean Sweep Blue (OCS Blue) is the most rigorous tier of membership in the US and demonstrates the highest commitment to zero resin loss for material suppliers and processors. Building off the foundational OCS requirements in the base tier of the program, OCS Blue involves additional, enhanced requirements, including:

OCS Blue

OCS Blue Verification, which involves external inspections at the facility-level to determine whether 25+ required management practices to prevent and mitigate resin loss have been successfully implemented. On-boarding 100% of resin-handling facilities in the US.

OCS

The base tier of the Operation Clean Sweep program supports material suppliers and processors in implementing the OCS Pledge's foundational strategies to prevent and mitigate resin loss. Operating on a per-facility basis, companies can join with all facilities or just one and work to expand across a portfolio over time.

OCS Logistics

For transportation and service providers, OCS Logistics is the membership pathway that's tailored to the unique strategies necessary to contain resin during handling, distribution, warehousing, bulk breaking, and transport. Within OCS Logistics, dedicated programs for transportation modalities are in development, including OCS Rail and OCS Trucking.
