Raise your hand if you've been guilty of skipping sunscreen or a proper face cleanse recently (we know we have!). It’s safe to say we've all probably let a bad skin-care habit or two slip by during these last few months at home, just because we can. But think about it this way: rather than focusing on what you don't have to be doing, why not use this time to focus on what you could be doing better instead?
One beauty enthusiast in particular has
been taking advantage of her time at home to instill good habits for her skin and herself. When content creator and former beauty editor Carrie Carrollo noticed her complexion was starting to look lackluster, she challenged herself to implement three healthy skin-care practices in an effort to
get it back on track. Fourteen days later and it's clear her skin has reaped the benefits. Just look at the photos!
"The past few months have given me more time to be as mindful and intentional about my decisions as possible," Carrie shared.
"My skin wasn't looking its best, and there was room for improvement. Now, my skin feels totally brand new. It looks much clearer and more even, and just feels happier overall.”

First up, a new, improved, and majorly simplified daily skin-care regimen was in order. "As a former beauty editor and longtime product hoarder, I've always been quick to try the latest trendy ingredient or experiment with the serums at the back of my medicine cabinet," Carrie said. "While this is fun,
it can also have negative effects on my skin; too many harsh ingredients can start to do more harm than good and it gets difficult to decipher what's actually working. Paring down was all about rebooting and gaining a little clarity with my routine."
Drinking the recommended 64 ounces of water a day is easier said than done, but there's no doubt about what it could do for your complexion. Carrie vowed to increase her intake in order to achieve a natural glow. "I like to think I stay pretty well hydrated on a daily basis, but oftentimes I still don't feel like I’m drinking enough," she shared. "I make sure to start my day by drinking a full glass of water, double if I’m drinking coffee with breakfast. This helps me get in the habit of continually reaching for my water glass for the rest of the day. I also make sure to refill my water right away anytime it's getting low or empty."
And she meant clarity in a literal sense, too; her updated skin-care routine now consists of three products from the new Bliss Clear Genius line: the Clarifying Gel Cleanser, the Clarifying Toner + Serum, and the Clarifying Peel. Peel. Most mornings and nights, she'll use the cleanser and toner + serum to balance her skin and clear her pores. "I love the gel cleanser because it feels so refreshing yet gentle on my skin, and it's not drying at all. The toner + serum combo conveniently combines two products into one quick and easy step with benefits of both — it tones without irritating and definitely helped clear up some problem areas I was experiencing." Two or three nights a week, she'll alternate the toner + serum with the liquid peel treatment, which helps exfoliate and decongest pores overnight. "It majorly calmed some redness I was experiencing and also helped improve the overall look and feel of my
skin. I apply it at night and start seeing results by the morning."
It's no surprise that Carrie loves a bold makeup look. Even during her time at home, she would occasionally put on a face in an effort to hold on to a bit of normalcy. But after noticing how much her skin enjoyed going makeup-free, she decided to officially forgo face makeup, including products like foundation, powder, and concealer. "Before committing to this habit, I'd say I was a daily makeup wearer," she said. “Ultimately, the more I can let my skin breathe, the better."
