How This Energy Healer Uses Breathwork to Inspire Connection and Personal Growth

When we become fully present, that’s where the real healing, clarity, and life starts to flow.
Millana Snow has been honing her personal energy work practice since the age of 4, when her grandmother introduced her to the world of meditation. “Growing up over the years, meditation, reading, and spiritual practices were not only my daily lifestyle, but my safe place and personal passion,” she said. Fast forward to the present, where Millana has turned that passion into a business, as an energy healer, breathwork practitioner, and entrepreneur, as well as the founder of WellnessOfficial.co.
As the pandemic became a reality across the world, Millana turned to her individual meditation practice to help her stay grounded and, in turn, able to continue passing that practice along to others. “I learned years ago that I was only able to make a real impact when I was healthy and well, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically,” she said, “but this year I learned how important that really is.”
According to Millana, energy healing is the umbrella under which many other lineages and approaches fall — meaning, methods like breathing techniques, meditation, and practices such as Reiki, which moves the flow of the body’s own energy. “I believe that breathwork and meditation is meant to help an individual become fully present, allowing them to step into a larger perspective of their own life, and the nature of life,” she said. “When we become fully present, that’s where real healing, clarity, and life starts to flow.”
Millana teaches and practices a few different meditation and breathwork styles, some more traditional and some she created herself. “I practice my own approach to Holotropic Breathwork, a 3-part breath that very quickly helps you drop into your body and deeper states of consciousness,” she said. “I also do one other meditation that includes breathwork from the kundalini lineage called Har Meditation for Prosperity. It includes a guttural out breath with the sound ‘har’ as you repeat a hand mudra for at least seven minutes.”
Especially right now as the world feels more uncertain and chaotic than ever, Millana stressed the need for people to reach for a sense of groundedness and self-awareness. “Meditation has always been important to the advancement of consciousness and well-being,” she said, “but I believe that right now, with all of the things that are playing out globally, healing yourself, being grounded, healthy, and clear is [the most important thing] to address.”
To help provide that much-needed connection to the self and to the world, Millana has shifted all her workshops, one-on-one work, and larger events to virtual platforms. She’s been busy hosting seven-day breathwork mini-courses, as well as creating content for The Integration, a private monthly energy healing group with live-stream interactive workshops and a book club. She’s also launching online energy healing and chakra courses later this year. “I find that doing breathwork in groups, even on a livestream, is very powerful,” Millana said. “You quickly see how connected you are with everyone and everything. When healing together, we see our own humanity with more compassion and courage.”
