Being out of work due to a disability can be emotionally and financially challenging. Prudential is here to help you through this time.
Get started
Before you start your Prudential application: If you haven't done so already, enter an “employee health condition” leave in the Microsoft leave of absence tool. Contact your Microsoft Benefits Business Partner for questions about leave tool entry and your disability leave pay on Microsoft’s payroll.

Check your status any time
Your claim manager will let you know if your claim is approved and explain the payment process and what to expect next. If you opted in, you'll also receive a text and email.
We communicate with you at your convenience
Not able to return to work at this point?
When appropriate, your claims manager will discuss Long Term Disability benefits with you before your Short Term Disability ends. You’ll be notified if any additional documentation is needed.
Notify your Prudential claims manager once you return to work to close your claim.
Communicate your return to work to your manager and your Prudential claim manager. If there is an accommodation that will make your return easier, you can provide the details to Prudential and have your medical provider complete a Microsoft Accommodation Form. Microsoft offers a variety of Accommodations for employees and applicants with medical needs or disabilities.

*Initial claim decision will be based on the 12-week Washington Paid Medical Leave Certification. Additional information may be needed if you'll be out of work longer.
