Since mid-2019, the Diversity & Inclusion Council (formerly known as QIAGEN Executive Council on Equal Opportunities) drives initiatives in D&I at QIAGEN aimed at fostering and improving diversity and inclusion at our workplace. The D&I Council ensures that our policies, practices and procedures support the recruitment, retention, education and development of a diverse and inclusive workforce that reflects the rich tapestry of society.

Started in 2018, our Ambassadors are volunteer employees from all functions at QIAGEN, driving D&I initiatives at local sites. Ambassadors have hosted many site-specific town halls and diversity forums, participated in numerous local/regional outreach activities, shared best practices between individual sites, built up our online D&I community and helped us listen to and understand QIAGENers' needs, perceptions and challenges.Our diversity and inclusion initiatives
Representation of female employees in leadership roles has shown a consistent upward trend (28% in 2018 to 36% in 2023). This was achieved because of our gender diversity initiatives to drive awareness, engagement and development of better gender representation in management since 2018.
