Assessing the feasibility and potential of an Rx-to-OTC switch of a cardiology product in Europe and potentially the US
• As a result of the project, the client was able to give a green light to further Rx-OTC
switch development, including market opportunity assessment; physician and
patient issue assessment; regulatory strategy and switch revenue forecasting.
Situation
• The client was interested in exploring early stage, stakeholder support for a
complex cardiology switch and develop an initial switch strategy, identify potential
indications and identify regulatory or pharmacy management implications.
• IQVIA Consumer Health designed and facilitated a key switch expert workshop to
generate insights and consensus on potential switch options. Finally the expert
implications were then discussed in a customer senior medical and commercial
management workshop to develop action steps and switch development plans.

Quickly capture preference claims for new formulations.
• A US customer wanted to conduct a nationwide study to capture clinical data and
preference claims for new formulations of its infant nutrition brand by assessing
effect on GI health, analysis of stool samples and self-scoring against a global scale.
• IQVIA Consumer Health and ObvioHealth recommended using ObvioHealth’s virtual
trial platform.
• Targeted social media algorithms and dynamic advertisements were used to recruit
the sample, while the virtual platform handled study managed product shipment,
AE collection, and relatively intense consumer involvement.
• The study enrolled 400 eligible patients in 24 days and was completed end to
end in just over a month, and in addition to the clinical data obtained, more
traditional market research elements were integrated allowing the sponsor to
capture both efficacy and preference claims quickly and efficiently.

Leading global player wanted to expand reach in APAC of a key
baby-care brand from treatment to everyday use for prevention
• The customer wanted to increase usage frequency of their brand and re-postion it
from “treatment” to “prevention”.
• A web-based quantitative survey was employed in the target country, advertised
and run through ObvioHealth’s virtual research platform in partnership with IQVIA
Consumer Health, to enable busy mothers to take part in comfort of their own
home.
• The survey recruited 300 mothers and returned results that validated the claim
of better protection against skin rash with regular usage of their product, which
was used in a successful television advertisement.
