Editor's Note
Pride was born from rebellion against silence, shame, and rigid definitions of what we can or should be. And in a time where anti-LGBTQ+ and anti-trans sentiment is at an all-time high, it's important to create spaces that remind those within the LGBTQ+ community that we've always been here, that we’ve changed history, and that we’re not going anywhere. So join us as we explore trans resilience, non-binary joy, and everything that comes with living an experience outside of the binary in Remezcla Pride 2025: No Barriers, Just Pride.
While visibility of Latine trans, non-binary, and gender-fluid people is growing in pop culture, the data reveals a stark reality: identity doesn’t protect against systemic erasure—it often intensifies it. Yet despite facing some of the highest rates of violence, poverty, and healthcare discrimination, Latine trans and gender non-conforming communities continue to live out loud—their voices a rebellion in itself. They're not only surviving, but reshaping the narrative of what it means to be seen and or just be in a world that too often tries to write them out.
