"I chose to become an engineer straight out of high school. My biggest motivation was to find a career that could make a difference in our world, including the development of new products and solutions that improve people's lives. Taking that passion for improvement to the next level, I accepted an engineering role within manufacturing becasue it was the most satisfying way I could find where I could design new products and see the fruits of my labor.
Those early years were some of the most rewarding years of my life. My wife and I were raising a young family and, in the workplace, I was proud of our team's accomplishments. I still remember the smells of cutting oil and weld as I entered the shop each morning, and to this day, those smells still remind me of those golden years.
Ever since that point, and for the past 30 years, I have never worked for a company where I was not in the same building as the manufacturing operation. It makes innovation and continuous improvement real. It is a tangible, direct link between all of the efforts our collective company put into growing our business and our ability to service our worldwide customers' needs. In short, manufacturing feels like home to me and has always given me a sense of purpose and satisfaction."

Soon after I was introduced to this field, I recognized that I connected with the critical thinking tasks and the fast-paced environment that being in manufacturing provided.
