When Alexa detects your request on your Echo Show, a light indicator will appear on your device or you can also set an audible tone.

The microphone off button on the Echo Show simultaneously disconnects the microphones and the camera. An “off” symbol also appears in the bottom right corner.

When you want to talk to Alexa, you have to first wake up your device by saying the wake word (“Alexa”). Your request is sent to Amazon’s secure cloud only after the wake word is detected.
