Teaming and subcontracting activities are accomplished through active marketing well in advance of an opportunity being released for procurement. SAIC's teammates are typically considered six to 12 months before the release of a RFP.

Small businesses may provide strategic operational capabilities, and SAIC provides support to small business partners through mentorship and subcontracting. Our goal is to foster long-term relationships that support mutual growth and success.
Protégés must have:
Mentor–Protégé Program
Worked with SAIC for a minimum of two years as a subcontractor or prime with an excellent track record of performance and the ability to enhance business development efforts
Held a federal contract for at least one year and be eligible to perform federal contracting
Minimum 50 FTEs
$5 million in annual revenues
5 years in business
