The 420,000-square-foot tower provides a flexible use of space to support changing patient needs and new technologies. It features all private patient rooms, corridors connecting to Prebys Cardiovascular Institute on multiple floors, and essential enhancements of medical and surgical services.

New 420,000-Square-Foot Hospital Tower
In keeping with our focus on delivering the right care in the right setting, the new tower incorporates the latest in efficient, patient-centered design, such as private patient rooms with designated family areas, nurse proximity to patients, and advanced wireless technology and equipment.
96 Private Medical Surgical Rooms
The tower has advanced imaging services, including MRI, CT and ultrasound, with three interventional radiology suites. Investments in “smart” facility design and digital technologies are dramatically improving diagnosis and treatment.
Advanced Imaging for Precision Diagnostics
The tower includes a dedicated women’s center with 13 private birthing suites and five antepartum rooms including six spacious birthing suites with labor tubs. A postpartum floor features private rooms and sitting alcoves with views of a rooftop garden, as well as a boutique to support new mothers’ needs.
Dedicated Women’s Services
With 24 beds, a Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) offers expert care from Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego for newborns with health concerns at birth.

To support the increased number of visitors to the campus, a new parking structure was built with a connecting bridge to Anderson Medical Pavilion.

As part of the first phase our master plan expansion, the renowned Prebys Cardiovascular Institute opened in 2015 and is now a premier destination for cardiovascular care on the West Coast. The Barbey Family Emergency and Trauma Center is also located there.
