Obtain the name, address, and contact information of each driver, passenger, and witness, as well as the insurance company and policy number for each vehicle involved. Document the VIN, make, and model of each vehicle involved and the severity of any damage with photos, videos, and notes. Other information, such as weather conditions at the time of the incident, may be helpful.

 

If it is safe, take steps to prevent further damage, such as moving your vehicle off the road. Save receipts for immediate expenses necessary to reduce additional vehicle damage.

 

How long do I have to file a commercial auto claim?

Typically, you should file your claim as soon as possible. Timely reporting allows your adjuster to document the evidence promptly and may even help lead to a faster resolution.

How long should it take to hear back about my claim?

You can generally expect to hear from your claims adjuster in about 24 hours, depending on the time you submitted your claim. Though we always strive to provide fast and attentive service, if you filed your claim on a weekend or if there's been a large-scale event, our response time may be longer.
