EVENT INFORMATION
A committed knife attack tops the charts of "Worst Fears in Close Violent Encounters" in and out of the self-defense training world. Each attack, attacker, and situation is different. Training a one-dimensional defense for knife attacks can leave us ill equipped and with a false sense of security. Learning the concepts and skills to adapt is crucial to being able to survive.
In our opinion, the most dangerous part of a knife attack is getting stuck attached to the attacker. The skills and concepts in this range are important to understand to build the ability to make space, access higher force, end the attack, or control the attacker. Our mission with KCC1: Foundations of Control is to dive deep into the common and effective positions when stuck in an entanglement with an edged weapon.
In essence, we stay in the clinch longer than we ever should, to build and develop the skills to survive these situations, if they should arise. This two-day training event will lay a foundation of concepts and training methodology to help you reframe your approach to defending a knife to be more aligned with a dynamic attack. In short, this training will super-charge your ability to execute your plan for self-defense under changing variables. No prior experience needed to participate in this course.
