Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems designs, develops, and supplies leading-edge active safety technologies, energy management solutions, and air brake charging and control systems and components. A member of Knorr-Bremse, Bendix is headquartered in Avon, Ohio and employs nearly 4,000 people. Bendix has been a valued Rival customer for 10+ years.

THE CHALLENGE
For Astrid Hintze and the HR team at Bendix, managing onboarding and offboarding documents had become tedious and time-consuming. For each new hire onboarded, HR had to follow these steps once receiving a completed employee form: download a single PDF, split it into separate files, rename every document manually, and re-upload them one by one into UKG PeopleDoc. Offboarding had its own set of manual uploads and reminders to IT. What should have taken seconds was taking up to 15 minutes per employee and creating backlogs during busy hiring periods.
Beyond the administrative drain, the process carried real compliance and audit risks. Misfiled documents, incorrect dates, and upload delays were common. With limited support and growing complexity across regions like Mexico and Canada, Bendix needed a faster and more reliable way to automate and customize documentation across a multinational workforce.
