Vernier Science Center
Project Information
This project includes the extensive renovation of Science Building One (SB1); a 5-story, 89,500-SF building for laboratory and classroom spaces on PSU’s active college campus in downtown Portland. The reinvented school aims to serve as an inclusive hub for science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) fields.

Stratford Hall is demolished.
Skanska, BORA Architects and PSU are finalizing the design and getting ready for construction.

Design & Precon
Labs and offices are relocated to the Science Research and Teaching Center (SRTC) and Cramer Hall to allow research to continue during construction.
Demolition begins at the existing SB1.

Construction continues through 2023, including renovations, structural upgrades, re-roofing and sitework.
