Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)
Living our values, Care for Life
Our Care for Life value means we care for the lives of people and the environment. It sets the tone of respect, trust and safety on the jobsite, which is directly linked to a “speak-up” culture, employee engagement, decreased incidents and increased camaraderie.
Jobsite D&I training
To create a safe and respectful work environment, we require all subcontractors and vendors to attend our jobsite-specific D&I awareness training. We customize the training to align with each client’s goals and vision.
Care for Life workshops for trade partners and vendors
Subcontractor supervisors and workers entering our jobsites must attend Care for Life workshops, which focus on workers’ personal relationship to physical and psychological safety and establish jobsite culture expectations.

Skanska Metriks™
We pride ourselves on providing accurate estimating advice to our customers at the earliest design stages through final cost. By looking beyond costs, we can significantly improve design and efficiency. Traditionally, building costs evolve alongside the design. As a result, project teams are often forced to compromise the building’s appearance or functionality to remain on budget. We developed Skanska Metriks out of the need for a better roadmap to the design-to-budget process; rather than relying on reactive value engineering exercises, it enables teams to focus on proactive value optimization.

Construction Market Trends
As part of Skanska’s Strategic Supply Chain (SSC) program, we have formed strong relationships with national manufacturers and local distributors to help our customers receive access to the materials and equipment they need. Through these strategic partnerships, we are often able to recommend cost-saving alternatives, decrease lead times and lock in more favorable pricing.
In addition to leveraging these relationships, we will counteract the volatility of the supply chain by leveraging Skanska’s Market Trends and Alerts report. This quarterly analysis of the market—both in Texas and around the U.S.—is a valuable source of information that we use to better understand local and national market trends and risks, helping inform escalation strategies, material selections and schedule planning for long-lead materials.
