SKF has been at the forefront of rotating machinery innovation globally, since our inception in 1907. SKF understands conveyor pulley failures can be very costly. SKF SDVD is the next logical step in housing innovation for mining conveyor pulley applications.
SDVD Mounting process
Take the first step into the future of mining
Bearing protection in action
Minimum pulley lift required to change bearings in-situ, if required. SKF hydraulic nut can be used with bearing already inside housing (valid for SDVD 31 series)
The bearing can be changed without removing the housing or pulley, saving time.
The SDVD Plummer block housing is fully compatible with the market standard SSN 5 series and SDD 31 series, using either sealed or conventional unsealed SRBs.
Interchangeable with all existing pulley designs
The SDVD Range is universally applicable due to minimised assembly width. SDVD Housings can be retrofitted to all existing pulleys which use the same basic bearing housing series. The housings are manufactured in SG iron for robustness, with 4 bolt mount base and bolt-on closed end covers.
Why SKF SDVD housing?
Discover the future of Mining Conveyors with SKF's SDVD Pulley Bearing Housing
Complete solution for mining conveyors
SKF's SDVD housing is specifically designed and developed for conveyor pulleys in Australian mining, minerals processing and bulk materials handling. A re-imagining of the traditional SSN and SDD TAC housing ranges.

Additional bolt on protective shroud gives excellent washdown resistance
For highly contaminated applications, SKF provides protective shrouds that are easily installed over the seal assembly.
Optimised design and reduced manufacturing cost for new pulleys, due to minimised assembly width.
Minimised housing/seal width to cater for pulley application
The SDVD range is easy to install as demonstrated in the adjacent video. The housings enable easy and accurate pulley alignment and in-situ maintenance.
Bearing service life doubled and relubrication intervals extended by eight times. The SKF Three-Barrier Solution is making a real difference to this iron ore mine in Australia.
