We made the world’s first carbon neutral TV. We strive to make our technology as sustainable, energy-efficient and recyclable as possible. Our packaging contains no single use plastic.
With the TV, set-top box and soundbar all built in, Sky Glass saves energy compared to having a separate products.
The screen adapts to ambient light by reducing its backlight to optimal levels when there’s lower light levels in a room.
Built-in power saving features like Auto-switch off, which kicks in after 50 minutes, when no motion is detected.
We are purchasing Energy Attribute Certificates to compensate for electricity emissions generated in the first year’s customer use of Sky Glass.
Our new film and TV studio is the most sustainable in the world. The campus will be powered by solar and renewable energy, harvest rainwater and use sustainable LED lighting and electric vehicles through its operations. There will be no single-use plastic in the operation of the site.
Sky News is raising awareness of the climate crisis with critical coverage, including the Climate Show. It’s the first prime time show dedicated to climate issues.
