In February 2022, Singapore’s first smart fire station and Neighbourhood Police Centre was officially opened in Punggol. It features shared spaces like smart classrooms and a training tower to facilitate closer collaboration between SCDF and SPF.

In 1997, the Home Team concept was launched to ensure an integrated and coordinated approach to keeping Singapore safe and secure.
The launch of the Home Team Academy in 2006 marked a key step in strengthening the Home Team’s capabilities. It became a central hub for training, leadership development and inter-agency collaboration.
