The Traffic Priority System is a Home Team inter-agency initiative that gives ambulances priority at certain traffic lights. An electronic transponder in the ambulance activates sensors at designated junctions near hospitals, triggering green lights so that patients reach hospitals faster in emergencies.
Remotely controlled and fitted with cameras and sensors, the 6cm-long cyborg cockroaches – which were co-developed by HTX – crawled through rubble too small for humans during the Myanmar earthquake rescue efforts. The data gathered was processed by a machine-learning algorithm to detect signs of life.
