Meet the seniors who are making a splash! This group of enthusiasts aged 62 to 89 met at an Active Ageing Centre (AAC). Now, they gather weekly for invigorating AquaFit sessions, organised by ActiveSG in partnership with the AAC.
Dr Charlotte Lim, who holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in anthropology, once flexed her intellectual muscles in corporate HR. Now retired, the 78-year-old has turned to flexing her physical muscles, hitting the gym three times a week.
Since 1999, Ms Suriani Soo, 65, has volunteered as head coach with Singapore’s Special Olympics team. Inspired by the athletes’ determination, she handles roles from chaperoning to announcing events. Every Saturday, Ms Suriani also coaches bocce.
