How does the skyline influence what’s underground?
To help make sure New York City’s bustling underground transit system is evolving right along with its iconic skyline, we coordinate between public agencies and developers to marry new building plans with essential subway enhancements. The result? A seamless and enhanced transit experience.
The development of this premier office tower helped fund a $220M transit improvement project in one of the busiest transit corridors in NYC. New and enhanced connections have been created for the Metro-North Railroad, the shuttle to Times Square, and future access to the East Side Access project.

SKYLINE TOWER
Construction of an 18-story residential building created the opportunity to upgrade a subway station, which included two new stairs and a new ADA-compliant elevator. Our phasing plan maintained the capacity of the existing entrance while allowing for the removal of the old building and installation of the subway upgrades.

THE HAYWORTH
When the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets decided to call Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center home, the community needed a major infrastructure facelift. Our team helped design a new subway entrance, vehicular bridge, and other improvements to accommodate the arena and improve neighborhood transit access.

BARCLAYS CENTER
Designing a connection between a historic elevated subway line and an underground line while assuring that it was aesthetically in line with the new Citigroup building was like putting together pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. The new glass enclosed transfer structure provides intermodal connectivity and brings the station into ADA compliance.
