“Fiction Writing Workshop has been the most fulfilling class I’ve ever taken. As someone who aspires to be a writer, it’s invaluable to be in a class where everyone shares the same desire. Getting to listen to other people’s creative processes and receive feedback from classmates who genuinely want to help you improve your writing is an amazing experience. I nearly took this class twice because I loved it so much.”
“Being an English major allowed me to develop critical reading, writing, and analytical skills I can apply to my work and personal life. So many people in the English department helped shape my Suffolk experience, like Peter Jeffreys. He was my advisor and always pushed me to challenge myself and try new courses. I still think about the topics in Peter’s classes and appreciate him for all his encouragement throughout my undergrad.”
“My favorite English course was Heroes, Anti-Heroes, and Outsiders, taught by Wyatt Bonikowski. It’s what I call the ‘comic book class,’ and it stuck out to me because I already dabbled in making comic books and graphic novels. Our final was even making our own 4-page comic book, which was a blast to do.”
