Cynthia Irizarry, PhD
Professor Cynthia Irizarry joined the faculty in 2009. She arrived from Stetson University, where she served as an Associate Professor of Communication Studies specializing in organizational communication, public relations, and health communication. Prior to a career in academia, Cynthia was a public relations specialist with the Ford Motor Company Technology and Engineering Division and the City of Detroit Department of Parks and Recreation.
Susan Westcott Alessandri, PhD
Dr. Alessandri’s research focuses on organizational brand identity and branding and trademark issues in marketing. She is the author of Visual Identity: Promoting and Protecting the Public Face of an Organization (2009) and Brand Identity in Sport (2018). Her research has also been published in several textbooks and a number of academic books and journals, including Corporate Reputation Review, Corporate Communications: An International Journal, Education Review of Business Communication, Journal of Marketing for Higher Education, Journal of Advertising Education and Journal of Employee Communication Management.
Maria Serraino
Maria Serraino is an instructor in the ADPR department teaching social media and public relations. For the past four years, she has worked as the public relations coordinator in the City of Revere Recreation Department. There, she was able to build the department’s communication and social media plans. She was also responsible for building and managing the department’s website, as well as plan and manage over six citywide events per year. Maria continues assisting the city as a sitting member on the board of directors for RevereTV.
