“I worked as a research assistant for Dr. Stocker in her computational chemistry lab. I was excited to undertake this project as it would be my first look at a dry lab. I thought it was super interesting that we could model real-world phenomena with computer simulations. I feel that my current student-employment experience working as a lab assistant and a research assistant has given me the foundation to build my technical skills that I can apply to my future career.”

“The experiences I had in Suffolk's chemistry department prepared me immensely for starting my career. Not only do I apply the knowledge I gained in my classes every day when I am working in the lab, but I also am thankful for the time I spent as a teaching assistant, tutor, and researcher, as these roles helped me develop soft skills that prepared me for the workforce. A year into my first job, I am beginning to mentor and train new hires, and tutoring other students with chemistry classes while at Suffolk set me on the right path for doing so.”
