Jayne Tyrrell, former executive director of the Interest on Lawyers’ Trust Accounts committee of the Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA), was presented with the association’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the MBA Access to Justice Awards Celebration in June. The award is given to attorneys who, throughout their careers, have committed to advancing access to justice issues.

Judith Josephs, EdD ’79, has completed 50 cable TV shows highlighting positive community leaders and their organizations. She has submitted four articles with embedded videos to the Massachusetts Association of School Counselors Association and has donated a book to the Suffolk library.
Kenneth A. Graham has been reappointed by the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Connecticut to an eighth term of office as Superior Court trial referee. He was also reappointed to an eighth term of office as Superior Court arbitrator/fact finder; both terms will run through June 2025.

The Hon. Susan E. McGuirl, former associate justice of the Rhode Island Superior Court, was awarded the Rhode Island Bar Association’s 2022 Florence K. Murray Award, which honors a person who has influenced women to pursue legal careers, opened doors for women attorneys, or advanced opportunities for women within the legal profession.

Sandra L. Jean, the managing founder and CEO of the newly launched Jean Consulting Group, LLC, successfully negotiated a favorable union contract between the International Association of Firefighters Local 3920, which she represents, and the five-year-old City of South Fulton, Georgia. The collective bargaining agreement provides secure safety provisions, a labor management meeting, a grievance process, processes around how decisions are made regarding terms and conditions of employment, and an adjustment to wages which were well below market.
B. Stephanie Siegmann joined the law firm of Hinckley, Allen & Snyder LLP as a partner. She serves as the chair of its International Trade & Global Security Practice and co-chair of its Cybersecurity, Privacy, and Data Protection Practice. Barbara Morton won “the Oscars” for American government, the Heyman Service to America Medal, honoring federal government employees who make large contributions to U.S. governance. Morton is the Veterans Administration (VA) deputy chief veterans experience officer. Her team created the first VA Trust Report, which surveys more than 1 million veterans regarding whether it was easy to get service they needed and whether they felt valued. Report data shows trust has risen to 79% compared to 55% in 2016, according to the VA website.

Julie Patalano Hamil was appointed Rhode Island’s first female State Court administrator in August 2021, serving as the administrative head of the judicial branch.
