Starting this academic year, Suffolk Law is embedding a custom generative AI learning track into its mandatory Legal Practice Skills course, ensuring every first-year student gains practical AI literacy. Delivered through Hotshot—a platform whose content is used by major law firms, including half of the Am Law 100—this initiative makes Suffolk the first law school in the nation to require Hotshot’s AI curriculum for all 1Ls.
Developed in collaboration with Suffolk Law faculty, the program combines short, on-demand videos with in-class exercises to teach practical applications of generative AI in legal work. Topics include large language models, ethical and professional responsibilities, and practice-specific use cases.
